This blog is devoted to helping San Diego homeowners understand their options for buying, keeping or selling their home in this  troubled market.   With the banks and the government changing the rules every day, I’ll try to help make sense of the news, share my experience and insider perspective,  and have some fun along the way.  Most fear is based on lack of knowledge.  By sharing what I know and being here for your questions, I hope to take the “stress” out of distressed property sales, whether considering a short sale, or an REO purchase.

Professional details: My name is Marti Kilby and I’m a Realtor and Broker licensed by the California Department of Real Estate.  I own Steele Group Realty which provides personalized service throughout San Diego County.  List with us and your home is posted on over 110 real estate websites, offering maximum exposure to potential buyers throughout the world.  I will personally negotiate your short sale and have a track record of 100% approvals.

Prior to my focus on real estate, I worked for several years as a mortgage broker.  My familiarity with lending practices has proven to be a real asset when helping homeowners review their loan documents prior to purchase, or when considering distress sale options.  I am a member of Sandicor, San Diego Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.  Addtionally, I have completed several courses in short sales and distressed property management.  I am registered with over 100 banks and asset management companies as a foreclosure specialist.

When not working:  Home improvement, gardening and cooking are my hobbies.  If I could get paid for entertaining, I’d do it full-time.  I’m a sucker for most shows on HGTV except for anything a bit too crafty (who really wants a $500 kitchen or decoupage on anything?)
